Alison John - [Committee member 2014 - 2018]

Rev. Alison JohnRev. Alison John became Coordinator for LEAF when Phil Cole stepped down as LEAF Chair in October 2014. She stayed at the helm until November 2018 when she stepped down from the Committee.

 


 

 Alison was born in Bristol and became a Christian as a child.

She read Physics at St. Hilda’s College, Oxford, and worked as a physicist in research for a while before the children were born. She is married to Rev. David John and they have three grown up children.

Alison has worked in adult education and has also taught violin and mathematics. She worked as a Spiritual Adviser in residential homes for elderly people in Kent.

David John served as a Baptist minister in Sussex and in Kent, and Alison was naturally involved in church life with him.

In 2009 Alison completed her training at Spurgeon's College, London as a Baptist minister/evangelist with a special responsibility for very elderly people. In 2009 David and Alison moved to Ashley Baptist Church Hampshire, where David took up the post of Senior Minister and Alison became Ashley's Assistant Minister. She has a special interest in sharing the love of Jesus with older people and works alongside David, which is the perfect partnership.

Alison is full of wonder at the loving faithfulness of God and in her spare time enjoys walking and music.
