A Little About LEAF Affiliate: Counselling Together

Counselling Together are a group of professionally trained Counsellors from various churches across the region. Counsellors are either accredited with the Association of Christian Counsellors, or the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, or working towards accreditation, and all receive regular supervision.

We offer a safe, secure and highly confidential counselling service from supportive and empathic counsellors, at a range of venues. Several local churches across the New Forest make accommodation available to us which strengthens our relationship with the church and with LEAF. The venue chosen for any consultation will depend on various factors, such as convenience of travel, availability of counsellor, and issues of confidentiality. >The service is open to those of all faiths or none.

Networking with LEAF, the churches of the New Forest, and beyond.

Counselling Together was chosen as our brand name to emphasise our relationship with each other, our clients and with the wider group of churches across the New Forest through our affiliation with LEAF: the local Evangelical Alliance.

Thanks to the support of local churches we operate a bursary fund to support clients in financial need including CAP clients.  We would expect clients to seek their own specialist support e.g. CAP if appropriate. We are aware of each others’ organisations and where we can be of value we refer to each other as appropriate.

Counselling Together is a registered charity with the Charities Commission.

Services We Provide:

One to One Counselling

Individual counselling offers you a personally effective method of promoting positive change. Together we look at your present difficulties, emotions, behaviour and thinking. We support you in detecting patterns of behaviour, working together to promote healthy changes at a pace you can manage.

Marriage or Couples Counselling:

From time to time problems within close relationships can cause long-standing unhappiness.
Couples counselling can provide a safe and controlled place to air hurt and angry feelings, look at shared issues and needs; plus give a fresh perspective to improve communication and  understanding of each other and avoid unhelpful  patterns of behaviour. Sometimes one or both partners may benefit from one to one counselling before or during the couples work.

Pastoral Seminars:

We would be pleased to organise seminars on emotional issues for churches and other groups. These are ideal for church and community teaching to equip people in their struggles in life.
